Caroline Marks has been making history all year.
As the number two female surfer in the world, 15-year-old Caroline Marks is the youngest surfer ever to qualify for the World Surf League’s Women’s Championship Tour. On December 1st, 2019, Caroline also provisionally qualified to represent the USA at the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Additionally, Caroline is an ambassador of Grom Social – A safe, fun social networking app for kids. Most recently, Caroline has also teamed up with American Girl to reveal Joss Kendrick to her fans.
American Girl announced on January 1, 2020, that Joss Kendrick would be their 2020 “Girl of the Year.” Joss is a 10-year-old surfer and competitive cheerleader from Huntington Beach, California. She is also unique as she is American Girl’s first-ever doll with a disability. Her doll includes a hearing aid, showing little girls everywhere that disabilities do not limit dreams.
Girl Power, overcoming obstacles, and achieving dreams are also important to Caroline. As a Grom Social ambassador, Caroline helps promote and champion online safety and anti-bullying.
“This is a chance for me to help show girls that it is possible to achieve your goals no matter how high they may be. You know, if you are passionate and willing to work hard for them, they will happen.”
